What is an arts award?

The Arts Award is a nationally recognised qualification similar to the well known Duke Of Edinborough Award offered in schools throughout the UK. Through Arts Award's five levels, children and young people aged up to 25 can explore any art form including performing arts, visual arts, literature, media and multimedia. The award builds confidence, helps young people to enjoy cultural activities, and prepares them for further education or employment.

Arts Award is managed by Trinity College London in association with Arts Council England working with 10 regional Bridge organisations. Since its launch in 2005, the award has grown quickly and is now flourishing in arts centres, colleges and schools, community projects, libraries, galleries, local authorities, theatres, youth clubs and youth justice settings.

Express & arts award

Here at Express Arts we like to offer our young people as many opportunities as possible. Not only are we an Arts Award Supporter, but we like to give young people the opportunity to get involved in the Arts Award and build skills for the future as much as possible. Our tutors are trained to deliver the award from entry levels Discover & Explore, all the way up to the gold level which is recognised on the UCAS tariff.

We offer keen and committed members of our regular groups the chance to partake in the Arts Award within our weekly workshops. We also regularly offer Arts Awards alongside many other projects and workshops that are open to the public.
